Paint and Paper: Making a Watercolor

  1. Cathy, I am an avid water color painter and I have become enamored with QoR Water color pigments. I am not so much into wet on wet but prefer the direct method of painting , working a section at a time. Much of my procedure rests on what I am painting and how I decide to go about it. So I do a lot of planning, much of which is carrying in my mind a picture days before ever touching brush to paper. then the fun begins.
    Thanks for your valuable insight,

    • Hello Richard,
Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed the article, and that you are liking QoR! I also tend to plan my paintings carefully before beginning, with paper and color selection dependent upon the subject, before the act of painting begins. And I find QoR brings great joy to the palette when it is time to paint!

    • Hi Tammy,
We are so pleased you enjoy the articles! I suspect many painters who use watercolor love color and mixing paint just as much as we do. Watercolor paint is so beautiful. Articles like this one give me a goal for that joyous mixing research, and the opportunity to share what is discovered.

  3. Hi Cathy. Thanks for share with us your knowledge about these issues. I wonder if you have and if you can kindly send me a recipe or protocol to make of high quality watercolor paper, mould-made. I Will very much appreciate if you can provide me the exact proportions of components. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we can not provide your with the desired information.
Watercolor paper recipes are often proprietary information for the companies that make paper. We wish you the best of luck in your paper-making endeavors.
